What it's all about

Green Team is a student project at UWE and we have some exciting projects coming up, working with a local organisation (mentioned in more detail below) that really needs our help to transform their open spaces. Our aims are to help the local community but also gain valuable skills and experience that should help with future volunteering, careers and life in general.

Kingswood Heritage Museum is a wonderful museum in Warmley, just off the A4174 Ring Road. It is packed with information about local social andindustrial history. The Trust really need our help with clearing and maintaining their gardens, pond and walkways. We would also like to provide and plant daffodil bulbs, hawthorn and copper beech.

What's needed to make it a reality

Funding for our project is limited and restricts us to working in just one location. In order to work at Kingswood Heritage Museum this Spring we need to hire a minibus. The cost to hire a minibus for each event is £75.00 hire fee, plus £18.75 for insurance + VAT + £10.00 for petrol. We have 4 events scheduled this Spring: 16, 30 March and 13 and 27 April 2008. We would also like to receive £20 of funding for daffodil bulbs, £60 each for Copper Beech and Hawthorne respectively. Total funding requested: £621.

I am really pleased you want to help Kingswood Heritage Museum because they are completely volunteer run and they will really appreciate your help! You need to put your budget figures onto the funding form. If you login you should be able to see a list of actions, one is the funding application. Just paste these figures in.

We will not be able to get funding for the daffodil bulbs, because planting of these would have to take place outside of this academic year. Only projects taking place in this academic year can be funded.

Everything else looks reasonable though, so fingers crossed you'll be planting hawthorn before the summer!
