What it's all about
Someone gave me the idea of building squirrel and bird boxes, to place in the local area. I already do conservation volunteering and thought that it would be a great and fun filled activity, involving a range of different people!
What's needed to make it a reality
We will need -
Tools,
Materials - wood, nails etc
A venue to carry out the building.
Someone to help us design and carryout the building who knows what they're doing.

Since you're at UWE and it's one of the unis Junction49's working with in partnership you can apply for up to £750 funding to run your project. Contact your volunteer support officer ( Jo Earl )for access to funding, training and support.
When you say the local area do you know where exactly?make sure you know you've got permission eg from the local council if it's a local park etc...though I doubt they'd object

Our friends at Avon Wildlife Trust have given us a contact for someone who can provide the kits to build the boxes. We just need to secure some sites to donate them to now, and find out what species we are providing boxes for. Perhaps you could get together with Abby to do some research? There is now a phone in 2D11 that you can use. Do you think you could come in and we'll go through a list of contacts?
