What it's all about
I am currently in the second year of university studying psychology. I am volunteer project leader for 'young and free'. This is an organistion, which is new to UWE. Its designed to help young people with disabilites gain opportunties for social interaction and befriending disabled and non disabled people. As part of my role is to organise social events, where we encourage members to get involved in activities that they may not have had the opportunity to do so before. We are holding an event for around 150 people, to raise awareness for Young and Free and also for the challenges people experience with learning disablities, to provide opportunites for social interaction. There will be a live band and music, and a raffle with prizes to raise money for future social events promoting more members to get involved.
