What's needed to make it a reality

Why it was needed

To make good use of kids time, through engaging them integrating with other people of different faiths & culture. Also to build the confidence of each child, to work and mix in with elder & younger people, gain football skills and participate in a football league.

What's being done

We recruited children from the age of 9-16 from different communities and areas of Preston. Made equal teams and participated in competing against teams from other areas of Preston. Schedule a timetable for start & finish of the project, including a 3 week break in between so children can also concentrate on school exams.

How it started

Identifying what sort of activity will make the kids more interesting and actively involved in making it a successful project. Advertised the project in different areas of Preston, through Posters, Emails, Telephone conversations and personal special invites.

More

Overall in the project there are about 150 children actively taking part, all kids are from different areas and around 20 adults are volunteering their personal time to interact and make the children more active in society. The project commenced in May 2008 and so far it has been going smoothly and successful. The full completion of the project will be at the end of August 2008. Also at the end of the project there will be an awards ceremony to show recognition to volunteers & participants of their dedicated time and efforts.
